I have installed FreeBSD 4.2 under VirtualPC 4.02 on Mac OS 9.1. Everything in the install went very smoothly except configuration of the ethernet device. The installer does not auto-detect the ethernet connection. Under Windows 2000, VirtualPC shows the ethernet device as Intel 21041 PCI. The closest thing to this I can find on the supported devices list is a DEC21041. I would use this one except that on the installation screen where such options are selected the DEC does not seem to be there or I am not expanding the list properly somehow. If anyone has info on how to get FreeBSD under VirtualPC to recognize the ethernet device I would appreciate it. I hadn't seen any indication that the supported devices list is much different under 4.3, but perhaps I wasn't looking in the correct area. -- Matt Wolanski To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-questions" in the body of the message
